Use less loft to stop thinning chips

Club-selection strategy for thinners: the instructor chips with a 52-degree gap wedge and warns that golfers who thin the ball tend to grab too much loft (56, 58, or 60), which invites trying to flip the ball up. Using less loft - a 52, 9-iron, 8-iron, or 7-iron - encourages the lower shot and makes the strike safer.
