Fix thin chips by letting the body bottom out the club
Addressing why chips get hit thin, the instructor explains that controlling the club with the hands means the club head does not bottom out consistently - it hovers and catches the top of the ball, producing a thin shot. When the hands just hold and the body turns and pushes, she says the club head bottoms out consistently at the low point, so she advises using less hands and more body to get rid of thin misses.
