Pitch off a downslope without thinning it

Off a downhill lie, guard against blading or thinning the shot. Play the ball a bit further back, choke down the grip, and make a small hinge. Crucially, limit the release - releasing the club too much kicks its back edge into the slope, which is what blades and thins the ball off a downslope.
