Set bunker low point slightly ahead of and under the ball

For greenside bunkers, the instructor wants the swing arc's low point positioned slightly ahead of the ball and under the ground, so the club enters the sand about a ball-width behind the ball and exits just after. He ties common misses to this low point: thinning/blading happens when you're too high and take no sand; topping happens when the low point is too far behind the ball; fat shots happen when the low point is too far ahead and drives the club into the sand.
