Keep the clubface square with a one-piece takeaway
Flaring the clubface open in the takeaway makes it very hard to square the face by impact on every shot, and when you fail to square it the open face causes a slice. The speaker's fix is to keep the clubface very square for about the first three feet, almost facing the target, keeping the hands and clubface still in a one-piece takeaway while the shoulders turn, so you turn and hinge correctly and the club travels on plane and the path and face angle are consistent at impact. Her checkpoint: when the club is taken back parallel to the ground, the face should be about parallel to your spine angle.
