Close the driver face from 12 to 11 o'clock, then grip

Hold the driver in front with the face at 12 o'clock and the handle just ahead, turn the face to at least 11 o'clock, then grip it. Do not close the face by moving the handle back; that sends the path farther left and worsens a slice.

Try it

  1. Hold the driver up in front of you
  2. Set the face at 12 o'clock with the handle just ahead of it
  3. Turn the face to at least 11 o'clock, then take your grip
  4. Do not close the face by moving the handle back
