Chip to the brush sound as your only target
An external-focus method for anxious chippers, who tend to either dump the club or catch the ball first: rehearse brushing the club on the ground and listen for that noise, bank three good brush sounds, then step in with reproducing that same noise as your only goal. Chasing the sound rather than the outcome produces the strike.
